Here's my skin tip for the dryer weather that's on it's way;
Olive Oil and Coconut oil. I cook with both so they are always on hand
The benefits?
- Healing
- Hydrating (without clogging pores)
- soothing (think chapped lips or hands)
The uses? Endless!
Keep some in a travel bottle in the medicine cabinet and apply with a cotton ball to;
- Eyes - keep those fine lines at bay by dabbing around eyelids in place of your night cream
- Hands - Dry, cracking, knuckles. Great cuticle oil!
- lips - or anything chapped
- Knees/elbows - any dry patches that lotion just won't get rid of!
- Make your own body scrub by mixing sea salt with a few tbsp. of one of these oils - add a few drops of your favorite scented oil!
- Hair Treatment - Rub a cupful through towel dried hair and put on a shower cap or saran wrap. Now go clean the house for a few hrs. and then shower and wash it all out. Instant shine and softness! Do weekly "treatments" for over procesed hair or after a summer of swim and sun abuse. Really fried hair? leave in overnight (just use an old pillow case).
